Lucas Papademos – the former Prime Minister of Greece was today injured by an explosion inside his car in Athens by what could be a letter bomb.
Papademos and his driver didn’t sustain many injuries save for some on the legs and the 69-year-old with his driver are not believed to be in danger. Papademos and his driver are receiving treatment at Evangelismos Hospital.
Lucas Papademos was appointed as the caretaker prime minister in November 2011 amid political and economic turmoil and he served until May 2012 when he stepped aside.

He also served once as vice-president of the European Central Bank.
According to Greek news agency ANA, the Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, who is attending a Nato summit in Brussels, is being kept abreast of the situation.
As at the time of filing this report, no group has come forward to claim responsibility for the blast.
